“For the first presentation of the Rome Prize winners, Villa Massimo has opened new venues. The security measures against the spread of the pandemic have meant that the artists and the team of the German Academy of Rome have thought up new formats so that the public can participate in the artistic production of the architect, visual artists, composers and writers. We used the park and the common spaces; moreover, we emptied from Villa Massimo some spaces that were used in different ways and transformed them into exhibition spaces and places for performances. The events that took place in closed spaces and were accessible only to a limited number of visitors were transmitted to the outside, which allowed a wider range of people to participate. So, to sum up, the restrictions made us even more creative!”, says Julia Draganović.
